BIO

Jeff J. Kim, CFP®, is Gerber Kawasaki’s Corporate Retirement Plan Specialist and serves as the “quarterback” of the financial advisory team when it comes to designing, implementing, and managing company retirement programs. With extensive expertise in 401(k) plans, fiduciary compliance, and designing retirement plans for small and mid-sized businesses, Jeff helps employers meet their responsibilities while empowering employees to build a secure financial future.

Born in South Korea and raised in Southern California, Jeff pursued his passions in both music and sports, earning his degrees from UC Santa Barbara with concentrations in Music and Sport Management. He began his professional career in athletics, working with UCSB Athletics and later with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Jeff’s career path shifted when he recognized his true calling in financial planning. After early experience with a Fortune 100 firm, he saw firsthand the conflict of interest that often exists between proprietary products and clients’ best interests. Determined to create a better model, Jeff earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation and launched his own independent firm in 2011. His mission was clear: build personalized financial plans that put clients first.

Over time, Jeff discovered that corporate retirement plans, especially 401(k)s, form the backbone of most Americans’ retirement savings. He began focusing on helping business owners and companies design smarter retirement strategies. Passionate about educating employers, Jeff works to reduce fiduciary risk, simplify plan management, and ensure full compliance— making retirement plans more accessible and effective for both employers and employees.

When Jeff learned about Gerber Kawasaki Wealth & Investment Management, he found alignment with a team that shares his fiduciary values and client-first approach. As GK’s Corporate Retirement Plan Specialist, Jeff leads the firm’s retirement plan division, building streamlined processes to serve both existing and future clients with excellence.

Outside of work, he spends time making lasting memories with his wife Stephanie,  their son, Jun(Bug) and Roodi (a very good boy).
